Lester Allen White, beloved husband of Beverly Ann (Barron) White who predeceased him in 2013,
passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at his home in Chicopee at the age of 85.
Lester was born on February 27, 1939, in upstate New York, he began his independent life at an early age and was a graduate of the school of hard knocks.
As a teen he was a lumberjack, eventually moving to the Flats in Holyoke when he was 40.
He took great pride in residing in the Flats with his new bride, Beverly, and eventually having twin sons, Kevin and Keith.
He dedicated his life to his wife and sons and provided a good life for them with many fond memories.
Lester was a manager at the former Hotel Jess on Main Street in Holyoke and later became a supervisor at Hazen Paper in Holyoke and Springfield Card and Paper. Most recently was a cook at Jennifer’s Kitchen on Chicopee Street.
He was a hardworking and meticulous man who was always on the go.
Lester was a true New England sports fan, of the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather and was a true inspiration to all that knew him.
Lester leaves his sons, Kevin and Keith of Chicopee, grandchildren, Gaidge, Makenzie, and Nathan, several nieces and nephews, Becky, Melissa, Michelle, Shawn, Dougie, Trish, Tina and Tammy, cousins, Michael, Annalise, and Karen and many close friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Lester’s committal service on Friday, November 15 at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, in the St. Bernadette Section. There are no calling hours. For online condolences and more information please visit
