Leonard L. LaFlamme 1953 � 2010 Westfield � Leonard Lucien LaFlamme, 56, died at home on Thursday, May 6. He was born in Holyoke on December 29, 1953, a son of the late Joseph A. and Lina M. (Gregory) LaFlamme. He grew up and lived in the Willimansett section of Chicopee for many years before moving to Holyoke and finally to Westfield in 1992. He was a 1971 graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era from 1974 � 1976. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the rank of P.F.C. He worked for the City of Chicopee briefly before joining the Westfield Gas and Electric Co., working there for 17 years before retiring in 2002. Leonard was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed cycling through Stanley Park in Westfield. He also enjoyed bowling and a friendly game of poker. He will be remembered as a devoted and caring brother, brother in law, uncle, Godfather, nephew, neighbor and friend, whose sense of humor, infectious smile and kindness toward all creatures, great and small, reflected the warm, respective soul of a most gentle man. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his four brothers, Gregory E. and his wife JoAnn of Schenectady, NY, Richard L. and his wife Shirley, Charles J. and his wife Jingqian, both of Chicopee, and Phil A. and his wife Karen of Easthampton, two sisters; Dr. Donna Marie LaFlamme of West Palm Beach, FL, and Denise R. Fournier and her husband David of Chicopee. He also leaves his Godmother, Joan of Arc Laflamme of Easthampton, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Calling hours at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, are on Thursday, May 13 from 4 -8pm. Friend�s are requested to meet at the First Central Baptist Church, 50 Broadway, Chicopee Falls on Friday, May 14 for an 11am funeral service. Committal services will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St. in Agawam.
