Chicopee – Leona “Thelma” (Freniere) Tetreault, 81, passed away Tuesday April 21, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Montague, MA to the late Joseph J. and Lillian A. (Fontaine) Freniere, she attended Turners Falls schools. Thelma is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 50 years, Maurice Tetreault of Chicopee. Thelma was employed as a home health aide for many years, most recently with the Chicopee Visiting Nurses. Thelma is remembered for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, kindness and generosity to all she met and she could always be found going out of her way to help people. She was one of a kind. Thelma loved her family, taking care of her home and husband, reading, taking a quick trip to the casino and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Besides her beloved husband Maurice, she is survived by her brother, Alfred Freniere and his wife Jan of Rhode Island; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many dear friends over the years who will miss her dearly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her four sisters and two brothers. All services are private and a Memorial Service will be held for Thelma at a later date.
