Leo Brunetti

July 29, 1942 — April 1, 2016

CHICOPEE- Leo D. Brunetti, 73, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Holyoke on July 29, 1942 a son of the late Leo and Rita (Blanchette) Brunetti. Leo proudly served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the USS Murray for four years. He married the love of his life, Jeanne (Durand) Brunetti in 1964. Leo was a Foreman for various wire companies in the area including Northeast Wire and retired in 1999. He was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards but most especially loved watching his grandchildren�s sporting events and helping his family and friends with projects. In addition to his loving wife, Leo leaves behind three sons, William and his wife Jennifer of Enfield; Donald and his wife Sharon of Meriden; Stephen and his wife Darlene of Granby; his daughter, Patricia Arel and her husband Robert of Huntington; three sisters, Patricia Burgess and her husband Allie of NC; Connie Sawyer and her husband Richard of Chicopee; Sherry Fonner and her husband Zeke of WV; six grandchildren, Donald and his wife Katie, Nathan, Daniel, Adam and Sarah Brunetti and LNC CPL Michael Arel (USMC). He leaves several nieces, nephews, and expecting one great granddaughter. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Leo�s funeral ceremony will begin on Wednesday at 9:30AM from Brunelle�s with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St Anthony St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The Rite of Committal and Burial with military honor will follow in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam at 1PM.
