CHICOPEE – Kenneth E. “Bump” Cundiff, 61, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Cundiff was born in Holyoke on May 1, 1947, to the late Amos R. and Constance (Roch) Cundiff. He attended schools in Holyoke and graduated from the former Holyoke Trade School. Kenneth served our country in the United States Marine Corps. While in the military, Ken attained many honors, including, the National Defense Service Medal; the Vietnamese Service Medal with one star; the Vietnamese Campaign Medal; the Purple Heart and the Combat Action Ribbon. Mr. Cundiff worked at the United States Post Office for twenty five years until his retirement. He was a member of both, the American Legion Post 438 in the Fairview section of Chicopee and the DAV. Ken leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of thirty five years, Lorraine “Cindy” (Reynolds) Cundiff of Chicopee; his son, Kenneth E. Cundiff Jr. of Chicopee; his step-son, Daniel Augusto Jr. of Holyoke; his three daughters, Jamie M. Therrien and her husband Robin St. George of Chicopee, Roxanne L. Cundiff of West Springfield and Jolene M. Cundiff of Chicopee; his brother Robert W. Cundiff and his wife Alice of Holyoke; his three sisters, Dona Hall and her husband Danny of Chicopee, Cynthia Buss of Arizona and Linda Pelkey and her husband Larry of Maine; his four grandchildren, Hunter, Brittani, Tyler and Alana. Ken will also be sadly missed by his best friend, Bob Redding and his wife Flora of Virginia, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Calling hours will be Friday, May 16, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
