Karen Ayers, 71, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She was a daughter of the late William Cronin and Frances (Flanders) Carlson. Karen was educated in Chicopee Schools and later obtained her hairdresser certificate. She was employed for many years as a caretaker at Sunshine Village where she enjoyed working with the staff and the attendees. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed singing, bowling, traveling, especially to the casinos, and the time she spent with her family. She will be missed by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert W. Ayers; her children, Scott Ayers and his wife Cynthia of Mechanicsville, VA, Carrie Ayers and Dan Goodwin of Lunenburg, MA, Michelle Ayers and Samuel Redden, III of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Kayla Chatterton and her husband AJ, Dustin Ayers, Juligh Ayers; a great-granddaughter, Daisy Chatterton and by her siblings, Dennis Cronin, Judy Ingalls, and Linda Wallman. All services will be private, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Karen's memory to Sunshine Village, 75 Litwin Lane, Chicopee, MA 01020.
