June Rose Marie Poirier

June Rose Marie (Brooks) Poirier, 85, longtime resident of Holyoke and beloved wife of Armand L. Poirier who predeceased her on July 6, 2000, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Holyoke Medical Center.

June was born on June 22, 1940, in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of Albert Edward Brooks and Loretta Ven Brooks.

She was raised and educated in Holyoke and was formerly an administrative assistant at the Holyoke Police Department in the Flats.

June was also a former employee of Hallmark in Holyoke.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and close friends.

June leaves her sons, Mark E. Poirier and his wife Brenda of Chicopee, Wayne M. Poirier and Steven A. Poirier, both of Windsor, MA, sisters, Shirley Therrien of Chicopee and Nancy Brooks of Holyoke, four cherished grandchildren Steven, Drew, Josh, and Arrianna, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her two brothers, David and Robert Brooks and sister, Barbara Deaulseault.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday evening, June 28, for a period of visitation from 5 – 7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. Chicopee. Her funeral service and burial will be private and held at a later date.
