Joyce Claire Fournier Fife (1938-2021), the beloved wife of Donald Sylvester Fife, passed away on Friday, December 10th, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at Lee Health Care Center at the age of 83. Joyce was born and raised in Holyoke, MA, the daughter of Odilon “Pete” Fournier and Rose Dubeau Fournier Fife. After raising her own children in Holyoke, she and her husband moved to Pompano Beach, FL. where they enjoyed the warm weather and spending time with their grandchildren, enjoying long days at the beach, shopping, lunching, and biking around the Goodyear Blimp Base. In later life, Joyce retired from her job at Sears department store and returned to Massachusetts to spend time with her adult grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. Although she suffered from a chronic illness most of her life, she never let it slow her down or keep her from spending time with family.
Joyce is survived by her sister, Julie Fournier Katra of Oxford, FL; her daughters, Diane Fife Clukey of Deltona, FL, and Joanne Fife Baez Cooper of Massachusetts, as well as her grandchildren: Lynda Sumowski and John Duquette; Amy, Richard and Emily Clukey; Christopher, Joseph Mahoney and his lovely wife Jessica; Joshua and Julie Baez. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Jasmine, James and John Brouillard; Brianna and Richard Clukey III; Kylee, Neveah and Skyler Mahoney; Johnathan, Genesis and Aiden Baez; and great-great-grandchildren Jovan Junior, Isabella, and Josia Sanchez. She was predeceased by her husband Donald; her sister June Fournier Landa, her brother John Fournier; and her daughters Donna Fife Duquette and Dawn Fife Mahoney.
A committal service will be held for Joyce on December 29th at 10 a.m. at Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. There are no calling hours.
