JOSEPH A. BARREE 1927 � 2008 CHICOPEE � Joseph A. Barree, 80, a lifelong Chicopee resident, died on Friday, August 8 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Chicopee on October 23, 1927, a son of the late George and Ida (Chagnon) Barree. He attended local schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war he graduated from barber college and was previously employed at local shops such as Richot�s, Jacquell�s, and the Breault Barber Shop in Aldenville. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Coderre) Barree on January 10, 1998. He is survived by his son, Roland and his wife Donna, and his daughter, Charlene Barree, all of Chicopee. He also leaves three brothers, Emile of Florida, Norman of Chicopee, and Rosario of South Hadley, and one sister, Theresa Gauthier of Florida. He will be missed by two step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by three sisters, Irene Tomala, Cecile Hooper, and Rita Zajkowski. Funeral services are Tuesday, August 12 at 9am from the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, both in the Willimansett section of Chicopee. Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Aldenville. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, August 11 from 3 � 7pm.
