Johnny Marrero

1960-2026

Chicopee – Johnny Marrero, 65, of Chicopee, passed away at home on Saturday May 2, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Rosa Nereida Montes Rodriguez and the late Concepcion Marrero, he obtained his High School Equivalency Diploma in 1987.

Johnny retired as a Procurement Officer for HRA for the City of New York. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, dancing and listening to salsa music but most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Johnny was also an active member of the River Mills Senior Center Pool League and enjoyed the Annual Domino Competitions at the Chicopee Center.

He is survived by his children, Diannette Marrero, Jade Elsamahy and Johnny Jr Marrero; by his siblings, Luis Marrero, William Ramos, Migdalia Ramos and Sylvia Marrero; and by his beloved grandchildren, Tatianna Green, Janaiah Maldonado, Jasminn Green, Ethan Maldonado, Arianah Maldonado and Giannella Marrero. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory forever.

Besides his father, Concepcion, he was predeceased by his sister, Wanda Marrero.

Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Saturday May 9th, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA with a 2:15 PM service to be held in the funeral home.
