Joann Rita (Parent) Krusz

Joann Rita (Parent) Krusz, beloved wife of 28 years of Anthony “Tony” Krusz, passed away on Sunday, November 28, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield at the age of 66. Born in Holyoke, MA, on September 7, 1955, a daughter of Edward and Viola (Cordonnier) Parent, she was raised and educated in Holyoke and was a graduate of Holyoke High School, before becoming a longtime resident of Chicopee. Joann was a machine operator for several years at the former Canson Factory in South Hadley and prior to Canson, she was an Envelope operator at Pratt and Austin. She was a former parishioner at the former Mount Carmel Church in Chicopee. Joann leaves behind her loving husband, Tony, of Chicopee, who she married on August 21, 1993, and son, Jamie Parent, and his wife, Heydi, and, stepson, Benson Krusz and his wife, Kristy all of Chicopee, siblings, Edward J. Parent of Chicopee, Linda Laurin and her husband, Robert of Belchertown, Diane Manzi and her husband, Phil, and Judy Nadeau all of Holyoke, Alan Parent of Springfield, and Mark Parent and his wife, Debbie of Chicopee, sister in law, Brenda Parent of Agawam, grandchildren, Devin Parent and step grandchildren, Layne and Gia Krusz all of Chicopee. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, David and Dennis Parent and sister, Susan Parent. A period of visitation will be held for Joann on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
