Jean H. Guzik

CHICOPEE - Genevieve "Jean" Helen Guzik, 90, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Jean was born in Holyoke on November 16, 1920 a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Spyrka) Przybyc and was educated in Chicopee schools. Jean was a longtime Chicopee resident and was very active at the Chicopee Senior Center and received several awards for her time and dedication to the seniors of Chicopee. Most recently she was employed at Langelier's Bakery for over 18 years where she was a counter sales clerk and retired in 1988. Prior to that, Jean worked for many years at Rays Market in Chicopee in numerous capacities. Jean was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a member of the Rosary Sodality. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Julian H. Guzik in 1991 and now joins him and their daughter, Patricia A. Guzik who died in 1957 in eternal rest and peace. She was also predeceased by two brothers and four sisters who await her homecoming. Jean is survived a daughter, Mary J. Gagnon and her husband Lenny of Ludlow; her 2 adored grandchildren, Trish Hamorski and her husband Joe of Florida; Jeff Gagnon of Chicopee and her cherished twin great grandchildren, Amanda and Jessica Hamorski who brought a great smile and tremendous joy to her heart. Visiting hours for Jean will be held on Wednesday morning, August 10, 2011 from 9 - 10:30 AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery St., Chicopee.
