Granby - Irvin William Tomlinson, Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on Friday July 24, 2020. Born in the Willimansett section of Chicopee to the late Irvin Sr. and Eleanor (Zajaczkowski) Tomlinson, he was a longtime resident of Granby. Irvin served his country honorably in the United States Army during Korean War and was a recipient of the purple heart. He married his loving wife Jane (Roy) Tomlinson in 1951 and together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage, until her passing in March of 2013. Irvin was employed for many years as a factory worker at Nonotuck Manufacturing in South Hadley. He will be remembered by his family as fun-loving jokester, who obtained a sharp wit along with a good sense of humor. He enjoyed tending to his garden and flowers, fishing and hunting, and was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. Besides his beloved wife Jane, he was also predeceased by his great-grandson, Nicholas Cayo in 2012. He is survived by his children, Debra Carey and her husband Steven of Chicopee, Gary Tomlinson and his wife Ana of Ludlow, Erin Brault of Chicopee, Brenda Huard and her husband Daniel of Southampton and Craig Tomlinson and his wife Lori of Belchertown; his sister, Eleanor Desotelle of Palmer; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and by his cousins, Linda Zajaczkowski of Belchertown and James Tomlinson of Tennessee. A private graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
