IRIS E. (PRESZ) LANDRY
1939-2018
CHICOPEE- Iris E. (Presz) Landry, 78, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2018. She was born in Newfoundland, Canada on July 14, 1939, a daughter of the late Edward and Nancy (Mercer) Dwyer. She attended schools in Canada and graduated in 1957 after which she proudly became the first social worker in Newfoundland. Iris was a devout Catholic who faithfully led both the rosary group and prayer group at St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was also a Eucharistic Minister, delivering communion to those in nursing homes and hospitals. She married Eugene Landry in 1984, and he predeceased her in 2012. Iris will be dearly missed by her six sons, Joseph Presz and his wife Dawn; David Presz; Terrence Presz; Christopher Presz; James Presz; and Timothy Presz and his wife Madeline all of Chicopee and step-son Michael Landry and family of Rhode Island. Iris also leaves her sister, Barbara Dwyer of Ontario; sister-in-law Noreen Dwyer of Port au Port, Newfoundland; her Aunt Marie from Ontario; her beloved ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as other family throughout Canada. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee Street, Chicopee, MA. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 9:30 from Brunelle’s with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony Street, Chicopee, MA. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Donations in Iris’ name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St, New York, NY 10016.
