Irene Spinks

CHICOPEE- Iren Marie (Rondeau) Spinks, 102, a Willimansett native and longtime resident entered into eternal peace and rest on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Wingate of South Hadley. Irene was born in Brockton, MA on December 29, 1910 the eldest of eight brothers and sisters to Alphonse and Laura (Harpin) Rondeau. She was educated in Chicopee and was primarily a homemaker for most of her life, enjoying all the precious time she spent with her husband and best friend of 35 years, Oscar F. Spinks, Jr. who predeceased her in 1971. Irene is survived by her four devoted children, Constance Sexton and her husband Frank of Chicopee; Carol Skutnick of Tolland, CT; Francis Spinks of NY, NY and Sandra Fleury and her husband Cleo of Dover, NH. She will be missed by her 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 great great step grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her caregiver Chris who was a great comfort to her and her family for many years. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin at 10AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee.
