Irene T. Borkosky

July 15, 1928 — August 28, 2022

Irene Theresa Borkosky, 94, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 28, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Springfield to George and Beatrice (LeBreux) Duprat, she resided in West Springfield for many years and was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.
Irene was a devoted homemaker, avid Red Sox fan and loved playing bingo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband; Albert J. Borkosky as well has her brother and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Carol A. Pimental of Chicopee and Susan M. Vogel and her husband Jeffrey of West Springfield; six grandchildren, Melissa King, Rebecca O’Connor, Jennifer Velez, Crystal Pimental, Kristen Spath, and Jeffrey Vogel Jr.; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 8th from 5 – 7 PM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. All are invited to meet for Irene’s graveside service on Friday September 9th at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield.
