Henry J. LaCroix 1919 � 2009 Chicopee � Henry J. LaCroix, 90, a longtime Holyoke and twenty five year Chicopee resident, passed away at Hospice of Fisher House in Amherst on Monday, February 23, 2009. He was born in Holyoke on February 9, 1919, a son of the late August and RoseAnna (Roy) LaCroix. He attended local schools and was previously employed at Medical West in Chicopee in the maintenance department. In his youth he was an amateur boxer and sparred with Rocky Marciano, he also played football for the Stonewall Athletic Club. His passion was caring for his beloved family and enjoying long rides in the country. He was the husband of the late Hazel (Tatro) LaCroix who died on January 1, 1995. He is survived by his two daughters, Audrey LaCroix, and Gail Manseau, both of South Hadley, and will be sadly missed by three grandchildren, Tracy Duncan, Randy Manseau, and Amanda Martinucci, and great grandson, Sebastian Duncan, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Ann Kanz, three brothers, Arthur, August �Tats� Jr., and Leo, and one sister, Florida Hervieux. Funeral services are on Friday, February 27 from the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St. Rose de Lima Church. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Thursday, February 26 from 6 � 8pm.
