Helen G. Brown

Helen Grace Brown passed away on Friday December 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving daughters, at her daughter Irene’s home in Belchertown at the age of 84. She was born in Holyoke, MA on May 9, 1938, to Clarence and Irene (Malkowski) Babcock and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. Helen lived in the Chicopee area for many years, before residing in Clearwater Florida, and eventually moving to Belchertown in 2015. Helen was a wonderful mother and worked numerous jobs over the years to support her daughters, later retiring from Avery Dennison. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Brown in 2012 and by her brother, George Babcock. She is survived by her two daughters, Irene S. Guilmette and her husband Ronald of Belchertown and Kathryn Reinke and Mel Jensen of Chicopee; stepson, Dr. Kevin Brown and his wife Liz and their daughter, Gracie of Gainesville, FL; grandsons, Thomas and Justin Guilmette, granddaughters, Sharon (Glenn) LaRochelle and their children, Hunter, Brody, Beau, and Kenzi and Heather (Anthony) Douglas and their son Mark, and by her brother, Andrew Babcock of Texas. Calling hours for Helen will be held on Thursday, December 29, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee. Helen’s funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by an 11:00 AM funeral home service. Under certain circumstances, burial in Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee will be private and at a later date.
