1913 – 2012
HOLYOKE- Helen Ann (Satkowski) Harrington, 98, entered into eternal peace and rest on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Mt. Marie. Helen was born in Holyoke on November 4, 1913, a daughter of the late Stanislaw and Emilia (Grycel) Satkowski. She was raised in Holyoke and was a 1931 graduate of Holyoke High School. Primarily a homemaker, Helen loved raising her family and shared her great love of religion with her family, friends and was evident in her everyday life. She was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church as well as member of their Rosary Society. Helen was a devoted member of the Holy Spirit Prayer Line for over 27 years retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Tekawitha Guild of Cambridge and led a prayer group at Mt. Marie during her stay with the lords’ faithful. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Edward James Harrington in 1967. She was also predeceased by a son, James S. Harrington as well as three sisters a brother and a grandchild. Helen is survived by her four sons, Robert J. Harrington of Lunenburg, MA; David E. Harrington of The Villages, FL; John L. Harrington of Wilbraham, MA and Thomas A. Harrington of Lunenburg, MA. Helen will be fondly remembered by her 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for Helen will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 9:45 AM from the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The burial will be private in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen’s name may be made to Mt.
