Harvey Leonard Cote, Sr., beloved husband of Helen J. (Serewicz) Cote, who predeceased him in 2016, passed away on Saturday, March 19, at his home in Chicopee at the age of 85. Harvey was born on April 18, 1936 in Holyoke, MA, a son of Bill and Alma (Fortier) Cote; he was one of seventeen children. Harvey was a machine operator, for over 39 years, at Sonoco Product in Holyoke, before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing and at one time, raising pigeons. Harvey was also a devout Elvis Presley fan. He leaves behind his loving children, Steven Cote of Springfield, David Cote of Ludlow, Richard Guenette of Chicopee, Harvey L. Cote, Jr. of Holyoke and Helen Guenette of Springfield, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son, Al Cote and Daughter, Diane Scarbrough, and all of his siblings. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, March 25, at 1 p.m. for Harvey’s committal service and burial at St. Rose De Lima Cemetery, 49 Olsen St., Chicopee. There are no calling hours.
