Harry Fedorenko 1925 � 2010 CHICOPEE � Harry Fedorenko, 84, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Country Estates Nursing Home in Agawam. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 19, 1925 to the late John and Marcela (Stelmach) Fedorenko. He attended schools in Chicago prior to enlisting in the military. Harry served our country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. While in the Navy, Harry earned the National Defense Service Medal. After his discharge from the Navy, Harry re-enlisted in the United States Air Force where he earned the Air Force Longevity Service Award with 1 Bronze Oak-Leave Cluster and the Good Conduct Medal. In 1960, Harry invented a turbine rear bearing oil drain tube wrench which saved the Air Force an estimated $40,000 annually. The wrench enabled mechanics to perform their duties without damaging equipment or causing personal injury. Harry made his home in Chicopee and worked for the former Worthington Pump which later became Atlas Copco. He was a former member of both the American Legion Post 452 and the Tigers Athletic Club. Harry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty four years, June (St. Clair) Fedorenko of Chicopee; his son, Michael J. Fedorenko and his wife Theresa of Charleston, S.C.; his two daughters, Cheryl Rondeau of Westfield and Donna Fedorenko of Chicopee and his six grandchildren, Tara, Nichole, Alexandra, Nicholas, Ian and Andrew. There will be a Committal Service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. There are no calling hours.
