1933 - 2019
Gloria Jeanne (Duval) Lesieur, of Prospect, CT (formerly of Chicopee, MA) passed away with dignity and grace, thanks to the professionalism and care of VITAS Healthcare and her private aides, Tyesha, Dianna and Michelle from Acuity Healthcare, who took impeccable care of Gloria. She was born to the late Adrien and Geneva (Cote) Duval, April. 12, 1933, in Chicopee, MA. Gloria graduated from Chicopee High School in 1950. She married the late Thomas Lesieur in 1954, and they lived together in Chicopee for 52 years before relocating to Prospect, CT. Gloria is survived by three children: Paul (Caroline) of Hamden, CT; David (Sandra) of Lutz, FL; and Denise Zielonka (Mark) of Prospect, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matt (Colynda), Chris (Elisabeth), Kate (John Gavin), Sarah (Michael (Gibby) Lane), Tom (Tara), Jess (Patrick Reilly) and Becca (Attila Gyurovszky) and their children, Nadia, Amelia, Harlow, Tatum, Lily, Nathan, Marie, and Attila III. Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband in 2007. Gloria was active in The Ladies of St. Ann Sodality at Nativity Church, Chicopee, MA, Den Mother for Pack 424 at Nativity, and was a member of the Chicopee Falls Women’s Club. Upon moving to Prospect, CT, she became a volunteer at the Church of St. Anthony, and was an active member of the Prospect Senior Center. She was an employee of Savage Arms, The Springfield Armory, The office of Dr. Harry Harhay in Willimansett, and a few other stops along the way before settling in at the billing offices of Baystate Medical Center where she retired after 15 years. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday morning, July 9 8:30 – 10:30AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA., with burial to conclude in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
