Gloria Marie Cote

EAST LONGMEADOW- Gloria M. (Nadeau) Cote, 84, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Redstone Rehabilitation. Gloria was born in Chicopee on August 4, 1927 a daughter of the late Wilfred and Laura (Martinbeault) Nadeau. She attended Mt. Carmel School, received her G.E.D. at age 40 and graduated from the Holyoke Hospital Nursing Program. Gloria became a Registered Nurse and began her career at Providence Hospital and later worked for many years at The Holyoke Soldiers’ Home. Gloria and her late husband Rene Cote moved to Leesburg, FL where they enjoyed the company of friends and family. Gloria worked for several years at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center before her retirement. Her husband Rene died in 1995 and she was also predeceased by a son Dan Cote on February 3, 1980. Gloria is survived by her three sons, Armand and his wife Georgette of W. Springfield; Ray and Kathy of Chicopee; Leo and his wife Micky of Wilbraham; two brothers, Raymond Nadeau of New Mexico; Leo Nadeau of Leesburg, FL; six grandsons, Bryan, Jason, Aaron, Garrett, Matthew and Timothy Cote; 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Makayla and Sumer Cote. Gloria also leaves several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 8:45 AM from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial held at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olson St., Chicopee.
