Gerald Kennison

Gerald Kennison, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Jerry was born on September 11, 1951, in Holyoke, MA, a son of Clarence A. and Emily Bertha (Jagla) Kennison. He was a lifelong resident of the Willimansett section of Chicopee and a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Gerald was a printer for over 20 years at the former Spalding Company in Chicopee and later was employed at the Coca Cola Plant in Northampton. He was a former parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. Jerry was a devoted father and fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. Whether at work or play, his day was always filled with the sounds of classic Rock N Roll. He enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations, even a joint or two. Jerry leaves his loving family, his daughter, Jessica L. Kennison and Fiancé, Benjamin Goraj, sons, Jeremy and Jarrod Kennison, his wife, Karen A. Kennison, all of Chicopee, brother, Thomas Kennison and his wife, Jeanette of Las Vegas, grandchildren, Kyle and Gaige LaFontaine, Luke Sims, Olivia and Madison LaFontaine, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends, including Jennifer Duffy whom he called his other daughter. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Edward Jaszek and sister, Sandra Lee Fontaine. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 5, for calling hours for Gerald from 4 – 7 p.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. A graveside service for Gerald will be held on Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montogomery St.., Chicopee.
