Genevieve Ann Forest

Holyoke – Genevieve “Gidget” Ann (Perkins) Forest, 79, passed away at home on Wednesday January 10, 2024. Born in Holyoke on August 28, 1944, she was the daughter of Arthur and Claire Grenon (Kirwin) Perkins and a lifelong Holyoke resident.
Genevieve was a graduate of Holyoke High School and in early years was employed at Avery Denison before working as a C.N.A. at Mt. Marie in Holyoke, for over 15 years before retiring.
Genevieve was never idle, she lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading, chatting with friends and family but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers that she has had over the years, special thanks to Allie, April and Carmen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Kenneth M. Forest of Holyoke; her three children, Michelle A. Forest of Holyoke, Stephen M. Forest of Holyoke and Tracy A. Lynch and her husband Timothy of West Springfield; her sister, Lauren Clark of Holyoke; five adored grandchildren, Jamie, Autumn, Joseph, Kathryn and Bradley and by her three loved great-grandchildren, Noah, Logan and Caiden. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Assink.
A period of visitation will be held on Thursday January 18th from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Forestdale Cemetery in Holyoke.
