West Springfield - Gary W. Carpenter, 56, of West Springfield was called home on September 21, 2010. He was a resident of Chicopee most of his life but later moved to West Springfield. He was formerly employed at the John R. Lyman Co. He was a huge New England Patriots and Red Sox fan. He leaves behind his loving mother, Bernice (Pothier) Carpenter, three brothers; Robert H. Carpenter and his daughter Sarah Carpenter, and Daniel Carpenter and his wife Linda all of West Springfield, and Wayne Carpenter and his wife Marisa of Chicopee. He also leaves behind two nephews and several nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Robert R. Carpenter and his nephew Michael Carpenter. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Abbey Memorial Drive in Chicopee on Wednesday, September 29 at 10am. There are no calling hours.
