CHICOPEE – Frances M. (Flanders) Carlson, 85, of Chicopee, passed away on Thursday December 29, 2011. She was born June 7, 1926 in Maine, to the late Fred and Mary (Durell) Flanders and was educated in Rumford Maine. Devoted to her family, Frances raised her four children and in her later years entered the medical field, where she was a dedicated nursing assistant at the Pine Manor Nursing Home in Springfield and retired in 1998 from the Hermitage Nursing Home in Worcester. She also volunteered at the Life Care Center of Auburn, MA. There was not a holiday party or celebration gathering that Frances did not prepare and clean her home for. In her spare time, she loved plan events to have family and friends over to her home. Frances is survived by her son; Dennis Cronin and his wife Audrey of Auburn, MA, her three daughters; Judy Ingalls and her husband Tom of Worcester, MA; Karen Ayers and her husband Robert of Chicopee, MA and Linda Wallman and her husband Larry of Maui, HI; her eight grandchildren and her eleven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Harry Carlson; her sister; Florence Hazalton and her twin brother Francis “Frank” Flanders. Frances also leaves her extended family and many friends to cherish her memory. Services for Frances will be announced at a later date.
