Florence Chapdelaine

Chicopee- Florence “Flo” (Kagan) Chapdelaine, 90, passed away Thursday June 30, 2016. She now joins her parents John and Zofia (Dudek) Kagan and her siblings in heaven. Flo was born on May 4, 1926 in Chicopee, MA. She was a long time Chicopee resident and devote catholic was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and treasurer of the rosary society. Flo was the proud co-owner and operator of Kagans Market in Chicopee for 40 years. Later, she worked as a sales person for Falls Provision and Gawron’s Meats. Flo loved dancing, listening to Polka music, and cooking. She enjoyed word search puzzles, playing Bingo, taking many trips to Mohegan Sun Casino and spending time with family. She will be missed by all who loved her. She leaves her husband of 63 years Alfred “Chappy” Chapdelaine at home, her children; Janice Ledoux and her husband Donald of Chicopee and Christine Guyer also of Chicopee. She leaves three grandchildren; Michelle Plouffe and her husband Raymond; Kristin Forest; and Eric Guyer and his wife Janelle. She also will be missed by her four great grandchildren Jakob, Justin, Ella, and Brady as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Flo was predeceased by her two brothers and a sister in-law, Theodore Kagan and Frank Kagan and his wife Anna. Her family will celebrate her life and receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4PM – 7PM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin on Wednesday at 9:45AM from Brunelle’s and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St, Chicopee. The burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
