Everest Gerald Small, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 2, 2023, at Regal Care of Holyoke. He was born and raised in Massena, NY to Alfred and Geneva Small, before residing in Chicopee to raise his family, he and his wife then retired to Bradenton, FL. Everest was employed as a forklift driver at the former Uniroyal Tire and was a driver for Conair Martin. Everest was a hardworking man and will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his playful pranks and laughter. He was an avid NASCAR fan and fully enjoyed his opportunity to drive a stockcar. Everest will also be remembered for his pristine lawn, love of playing cards, woodworking, and watching old-time western movies. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy Lee (Jarvis) Small of Chicopee; his children, Tina Macy and her husband Nicholas of Chicopee, Sandra Nichols of Chicopee and Everest Small, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Reading, PA; his brother, Elwood Small and his wife Norma of Massena, NY; his four grandchildren, Franklin Nichols, Everest Small, III, Landon Small and Deven Macy as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Shirley Choma, and brothers, Raymond and Stanley Small. A calling hour will be held for Everest on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
