Emily B. Kennison Champagne

Emily B. Kennison Champagne 1915 � 2009 CHICOPEE � Emily B. (Jagla) Kennison Champagne, 93, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Willimansett Center West Nursing Home. Emily was born in Holyoke on September 21, 1915 to the late Andrew J. and Bertha (Mrowicki) Jagla. She attended schools in New York and was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. Emily retired from the former U.S. Envelope in Springfield and was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club and the Chicopee Senior Center. Emily liked to travel, bowl and was an avid shopper. In her spare time, she would knit hundreds of blankets for Baystate Medical Center�s NICU, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She kept her polish heritage alive by making golombkis for her family. Emily was predeceased by her first husband Clarence Kennison and her second husband Clarence Champagne and her brother Edward Jagla. She leaves to cherish her memory, her three sons, Robert E. Jaszek Sr. (Bonnie) of Chicopee, Thomas A. Kennison (Susan) of Las Vegas, NV and Gerald Kennison (Karen) of Chicopee; her daughter, Sandra L. Fontaine (Richard) of Chicopee; her three sisters, Wanda Martel and Helen Ash both of Aldenville and Lottie Boduch of Wilbraham; her sister-in-law, Adele Jagla of Chicopee; her nine grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Mark Jaszek, Michael Fontaine, Thomas Jr., Matthew, and Daniel Kennison, Jessica LaFontaine, Jeremy and Jared Kennison and her eight great-grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her special friend and companion Jack Barros of Chicopee. There will be a Service of Remembrance Thursday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Emily�s memory to either St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St, Chicopee, MA, 01013 or to the Alzheimer�s Association, 153 Magazine St., Springfield, MA, 01109.
