Eleanor Mary Polak

Eleanor Mary (Burek) Polak, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on November 25, 1932, in New Boston, PA to Frank and Julia (Tomaszewski) Burek. Eleanor attended Pennsylvania schools and was a 1950 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School in Pennsylvania.
Eleanor was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee and was a devoted wife and homemaker over the years. She was predeceased by her husband, John Polak in 2001and by her siblings, Joe, Helen, Rose, Lottie, Casmir, Frank and Jean.
She is survived by her son, Robert P. Kardisco and his wife, Angela Beeler-Kardisco of Chicopee and by her cherished granddaughter, Brianna Rose Kardisco.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, from 4 – 7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA. Eleanor’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30th starting at 9 AM from Brunelle Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthomy of Padua Church.
