CHICOPEE – Elaine E. (LaBonte) Hebert, 72, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke on October 29, 1938 to the late Anthony and Anna (Malek) LaBonte. Elaine attended schools in Holyoke. In her early years she worked at the former National Blank Book, now Avery Dennison. She left there to stay home and raise her family. In her later years she worked at Willimansett West Nursing Home where she retired after many years of service. She was a member of the former Holyoke Turn Verein. Elaine enjoyed crocheting blankets and then donating them to anyone and everyone. There was not a holiday or a season where Elaine did not decorate her home. In her spare time, Elaine loved to work in her Rock Garden. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty years, Louis N. Hebert of Chicopee; son, Michael W. Hebert and daughter, Gail Hebert of Chicopee; her sister Diane and husband, Nelson West of Westfield; one niece and five nephews. All services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
