CHICOPEE – Edward Gorecki, 84, of Chicopee, passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2010 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ware and a long time Chicopee resident, he was the son of the late John and Julia (Koyta) Gorecki. Edward was a retired foreman for the Chicopee Water Department. He had also worked for several years for the Ted Ondrick Co. of Chicopee. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served his country with distinction. Edward loved Polka music and enjoyed dancing the polka almost every weekend. He was predeceased by his wife Veronica (Buczek) Gorecki and by two sons, Edward Gorecki and John Gorecki. Edward leaves his daughters, Julia Gagliaducci and Eva Boyer and her husband Richard all of Belchertown; two brothers, Walter Gorecki and Frank Gorecki both of La Hoya, CA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Committal services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in the Cemetery Chapel at St. Stanislaus Cemetery 800 Montgomery St., Chicopee at 11 a.m. There are no calling hours.
