1920 – 2009

Chicopee – Edward F. “Rosie” Rosienski, Sr., 88, a lifelong Chicopee resident, died at home surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, April 20, 2009.  He was born in Windsor, CT on August 10, 1920, a son of the late Stanley and Anna (Krystinch) Rosienski.  He attended Chicopee schools and retired from H.P. Hood in Agawam as a licensed pasteurizer after thirty seven years of service.  Edward loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He also enjoyed ten pin bowling for many years.  He is survived by his wife Gertrude (Renaud) Rosienski, two sons, Edward Rosienski, Jr. and his wife Lois of West Springfield, and Robert Rosienski of Holyoke, four daughters, Judith Richards and her husband Paul of Holyoke, June Richards and her husband Ernest of Westfield, Sandra Shaw and her husband Robert of Holyoke, and Gail LaRose and her husband Robert of Easthampton.  He also leaves one brother, Stanley Rosienski of Florida, and three sisters, Shirley Stafford of Delaware, Emily Wassung and Anna Lapa, both of CT.  He will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Calling hours are Wednesday, April 22 from 5 – 7pm at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St.  A Service of Remembrance will take place at 6pm.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Edward may be directed to Hospice Life Care, 113 Hampden St., Holyoke, MA 01040.  Please visit www.brunellefuneralhome.com for directions and an online guestbook.
