Chicopee – Dorothy Alice (Johnston) Capuano, 83, of Chicopee, MA, passed away Saturday December 28, 2025, at Holyoke Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Portsmouth, NH, daughter of Richard W. and Dorothy E. (Chandler) Johnston. Throughout her career, Dorothy was employed with the Hampden County Probate and Family Court in Springfield, MA. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bethany Assembly of God Church in Agawam, where she was a member and will always be remembered for her generosity and love for her beloved grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, Pasquale Capuano in 1980, by her son, Pasquale Capuano in 1999 and by her two sisters, Theora McGovern and Beverly Whitaker.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Gina Capuano of Pittsfield and Taryl L. Myers of Chicopee; her former husband, David R. Ricard of Chicopee; her sister, Kimberly Nelson of California; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday January 7th, 2026, from 11:00 – 12:00 noon at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA followed by a 12:00 noon service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield.
