CHICOPEE- Dorothy C. (Francis) Bordeau, 91, was called safely home on January 25, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Burlington, Vermont on August 23, 1919 and was raised in Montpelier, Vermont. She was the daughter of the late George A. Francis and Rena (Flynn) Francis-Peterson. Dorothy is predeceased by her brothers Oliver and George Francis and her sister Marion Scribner. Dorothy worked at Bickford’s Pancake House and Chicopee/Holyoke Head Start for many years. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and spending time with family. Dorothy was a caring and compassionate woman with an immense love for her family. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Bordeau, who passed away on October 1, 1985. Dorothy leaves behind her children: Malcolm and Wanda Bordeau of Hadley, MA; predeceased by a son, George Bordeau, who passed away on April 9, 2008 and his surviving wife Rachel Bordeau of CT; Douglas and Carol Bordeau of Hartland, VT; Beverly and Joseph Bissonnette of Wells, ME; Rena LaValley with whom she resided with of Chicopee, MA; Robert and Claire Bordeau of Palmer, MA; Joyce and Donald Chartier of Chicopee, MA; Gary and Cherie Bordeau of Chicopee, MA; Kevin and Carol Bordeau of Chicopee, MA; and Keith and Sharon Bordeau of Ware, MA. Dorothy is survived by 27 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Dorothy was adored by her family and will be greatly missed by many. Her visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The funeral will begin on Saturday at 9:45 AM from Brunelle’s and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee, MA 01020.
