Donna L. Pasternak, 69, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Monday, May 10, 2021. She was a daughter of the late James and Edna (Depot) Mastorakis. Donna was born and raised in Holyoke and a 1969 graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School. She worked at several area places including: New England Archives, a Teacher’s Aide at Jackson St. School in Northampton, and at the VA Medical Center Leeds in the canteen. Donna loved gardening and family gatherings and will be remembered as being a mom to all who knew her. She was a baker extraordinaire. Creating new and definitely interesting pastries every Saturday. She also enjoyed crocheting, oftentimes donating her beautiful work to charity. She will be missed by her husband of 50 years, Henry J. Pasternak of Florence; her daughter, Jennifer Pasternak of Holyoke; her son's SMSgt Michael Pasternak and his wife Diana of San Antonio, Texas and Henry Pasternak and his wife Andrea of Westfield, MA; her grandchildren, Eric, Joshua, Stephen, and Jordan; and her sibling’s John Mastorakis and Melanie of Holyoke, Ann Hebert of Chicopee, and Kathy Mastorakis of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 4 - 7pm at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13th beginning at 8:45am at the Brunelle funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial 10am at St. Anne’s Church, 30 College St. in Chicopee. Burial will be in the St. Jerome Cemetery, Northampton St., Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donna's memory to the Springfield Rescue Mission, 10 Mill St., Springfield, MA 01108.
