Donna Marie LaRocque (King) passed away with family by her side on Oct 8, 2021 after battling illness for almost a year. Donna was born Dec 15, 1946 to Bernice (Legacy) and Arlington King and lived in upstate NY until moving to Holyoke, MA in 1967. At 24, Donna began her career at Holyoke Health Center where she worked right up until getting sick at 74. During those 50 years, she built a legacy and became one of the most beloved employees to ever walk the halls of that clinic. She was always so proud of her job and loved every single person she worked with as if they were her own family - and they loved her right back. She was a dedicated coworker who everyone could count on and look up to. And that wasn’t just at work. Donna was known for going above and beyond for anyone she loved. She will be terribly missed by all of her family and friends - but will always be remembered for her giving heart and loving smile. On January 7, 2011, Holyoke honored the date as Donna M. LaRocque day for her faithful service at Holyoke Health Center which generated a Scholarship in her name to be awarded to Nursing Students. She is survived by her children, Christine LaRocque and life partner, Wayne Sullivano Sr. and Larry LaRocque Jr., her grandchildren, Wayne Sullivano Jr. and Phoenix LaRocque, her great grandchild Gabriel Rosado and by siblings, David King and his wife, Donna, Dale King and his wife, Judy, Joey King and his wife, Judy, Nancy Lamay and her husband, Donald and, Dolores Lancto. Donna also leaves the love of her life, her Chihuahua, Tiki. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother Steven King. Calling hours for Donna will be held on Saturday October 16, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, followed by an 11:00 a.m. service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Steven King.
