Derrick Paul Savaria, 40, lifelong resident of East Longmeadow, and beloved husband, of nine years of Danielle N. (Borek) Savaria, who he married on August 10, 2013, passed away unexpectedly from complications of ALS on Saturday, August 13, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
Derrick was born on February 9, 1982, in Holyoke, MA, son of Gary and Nancy (Smith) Savaria, he was raised and educated in East Longmeadow and was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School in 2000 and later attended the Barron Institute of Technology where he received his certificate as an Auto Body Technician.
Derrick was employed for just over 17 years as an Auto Body Technician at Hampden Auto Body on Main St. in Hampden, MA and also worked many years at several area 99 Restaurants. Beside his automotive skills, he was very well versed in many other fields and was always a beneficial help to family and friends.
Derrick loved various types of music and was a bonified Aerosmith fan. He was deep into all types of cars and his jeep. Derrick was also a fan of all the professional New England sports teams.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Danielle, and son, Caiden J. Savaria, parents, Gary and Nancy, sister, Kathryn Barney and her husband, Austin Jr., two nieces, one nephew and his lifelong best friend, Jon Gilbert all of East Longmeadow.
