Dennis Norman Menard

Dennis Norman Menard passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 21,2025. Dennis is the son of Norman Menard and Estelle Menard. He is predeceased by both his parents and his brother Kenneth Menard. Dennis leaves behind his wife of 52 years Jacqueline Menard and their three children Holly, Michael and April. Dennis had a love for life. Dennis was a proud grandfather to Breana, Sean, Asha, Jackson, and Kyra. He served in the Navy for six years. He received commendations for saving the boat and crew when he prevented a nuclear reactor from shutting down prematurely. After the navy, he had a long successful career in electrical engineering. He spent many of his years working for Westinghouse. He received a patent for an engineered safety activation system in 2004. Dennis loved sailing, painting, gardening, wine making, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren in his dad’s workshop. He had a green thumb that left many envious. He always had a smile and a plant when he would visit someone. He loved to be in his yard in Tolland, Ma getting covered digging in the dirt and caring for his plants. He enjoyed any car trips near or far. Dennis always had a warm heart and strong hands. He loved teaching about engineering, woodworking, and anything existing in nature. He will be missed by all that knew him and his memories, and his love will be forever in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday July 25, for a calling hour for Dennis from 9 – 10 AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. Chicopee, MA, followed by a procession to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for his committal service with military honors.
