Dennis Donald Hotte, beloved husband of 68 years of Marilyn (Rushlaw) Hotte who predeceased him in 2016, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at his home in Belchertown at the age of 99.
Dennis was born on February 5, 1924, in Holyoke, MA, a son of Eli and Orise (Houle) Hotte.
He was raised and educated in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee High School.
Dennis was a truck driver at several companies throughout the years and most recently was employed for over twenty years at Trust Engineering, before retiring in 1990.
After retirement, he went back to work on a part time basis to Trust Engineering, then to Chicopee High School, and lastly as a shuttle driver for PVTA.
Dennis was also a Rock n’ Roll musician, who played the Bass and keyboards and was most remembered as a member of the Manhattan’s.
He is survived by his loving children, Michael Hotte and his wife, Denise, Randy Hotte and his wife, Evelyn all of Chicopee, Alan Hotte of Texas and Donna Wilson of Chicopee, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild., many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his son, Dennis David Hotte in 2018, daughter, Lisa Hotte in 1975, two brothers, Norman and Harold Hotte and two sisters, Lillian Lynes and Estelle York.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, December 18, for a period of visitation from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee Street, Chicopee, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately after the service at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dennis’s name may be made to Second Baptist Church, 589 Granby Road, South Hadley, MA 01075.
