Dennis Briere

CHICOPEE- Dennis �Benny� Briere, 59, passed away on Wednesday September 25, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. Benny was born in Holyoke on December 31, 1953 the son of the late Lawrence and Irene (Mainville) Briere. He was a graduate of Chicopee Comp in 1971 and was a member of the football and hockey teams. He was an area welder for many years and worked at Digital as a welder in Westfield. Benny had a love of food and cooking and he also worked as a chef at Lemays Tavern in New Hampshire for several years while he resided in Exeter. Benny was an accomplished fisherman and loved camping with his family. He married Jean (Perreault) Briere in 1994 and the couple just celebrated 19 years together in August. He is also survived by his daughter, Jenna Briere of Chicopee; his sister, Karen Sullivan of Holyoke; three nieces, Julie Kleszczynski of Holyoke; Jennifer Nelson of Springfield; Elizabeth Perreault of Norcross, GA; a nephew, Christopher Perreault of Norcross, GA and several extended family members and dear friends. Benny now joins his parents and his beloved nephew, Keith Sullivan who welcome him home to peace and eternal rest. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 4-6PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013 with a funeral home service celebrated at 5:30PM.
