CHICOPEE- Denise D. (Perron) Mecteau, a longtime Holyoke resident passed away at Mercy Hospital on Saturday, November 2, 2013 two months prior to her 56th birthday. Denise was born in Holyoke on December 31, 1957 a daughter of the late Albert and Antoinette (Courchesne) Perron and was educated in Holyoke Schools. She was employed at Ampad in Holyoke for over 20 years as a machine operator and later worked at Charter Communications in Chicopee as a customer service representative for several years. Denise loved camping with her family and spent many summers in Exeter, NH and more recently at Windy Acres. She enjoyed gambling and taking many trips to the casino as well as playing Bingo and Keno. Her love and compassion for others was immeasurable and if you were in need of anything Denise was always willing to help. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Wayne L. Mecteau who also provided such great care over the past few years to allow Denise to smile and enjoy life. In addition to her parents, Denise was predeceased by her brother Albert Perron. She will be missed dearly by her son, Wayne Jr of Holyoke; her two daughters, Tonya Perron of Holyoke; Sherelle Heard of Chicopee; her sister Lori Avery of Holyoke. Denise also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Amanda Bruno, Elvin Bruno Jr., Maxwell Seiffert, Jeremiah Quinones Acevedo and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and dear friends. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at 8:30AM from the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holyoke. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Memorial donations in Denise�s name can be made to a charity of one�s choice. Please visit
