Constance T. Champigny

Constance T. Champigny 1928 � 2010 CHICOPEE � Constance T. �Connie� (Lacoste) Champigny, 82, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Hadley at Elaine Care and Rehab Center in Hadley, MA. She was born in Chicopee on February 2, 1928 to the late Emile and Cecile (Roy) Champigny. Connie was a devote Catholic, she belonged to the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality. She was also a Lay Apostle with the Dominican Order Mother of God Chapter in West Springfield. Connie was definitely a people person, she was friendly and outgoing to all of those she knew and even those she did not know. She loved to spend her leisure time painting, crocheting, completing puzzles and listening to music. Connie was predeceased by her loving husband, Wilfred G. Champigny in 1984 after thirty-seven years of marriage. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Gerard W. Champigny and his wife Kathy of Culpepper, VA; her two daughters, Rose Marie Gladu and her husband Larry of Columbia City, IN and Susan C. Antunes and her husband Raymond of Amherst, MA; her brother, Roger Lacoste of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; her ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A funeral procession will form on Saturday, April 10 at 10:45 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Burial will follow the Liturgy in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hours will be Friday, April 9 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
