HOLYOKE- Claire R. (Ponton) Brunelle, 86, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at Loomis House in Holyoke. She was born in Holyoke, MA on March 19, 1925 a daughter of the late Armand and Doucia (Chartier) Ponton. Claire was educated in Chicopee schools and later graduated from Burby Rose School of hairdressing in Springfield. She was a dedicated hairdresser at Butlers House of Beauty and was a former communicant of St. Rose De Lima Church. Claire is survived by her son Dennis R. Brunelle and his wife Trisha of Charlotte, NC; two daughters Karen Mayer of Westfield; Cynthia Caron of Wesley Chapel, FL; her brother Roger Ponton of Granby, MA; two sisters Jeannette Mc Ouat of PA; Lucille Giroux of Granby, MA; eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and many friends and extended family members. Claire was also predeceased on April 17, 1987 by her husband, Rene E. Brunelle. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The funeral ceremony will begin on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 9:45 AM from the funeral home and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee, MA 01020. The Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olson St., Chicopee.
