Claire G. Desrochers

Claire G. Desrochers 1921-2009 Claire G. (Duval) Desrochers, 87, of South Hadley, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009. Born in Holyoke on Aug. 6, 1921 she was the daughter of the late George and Herminie (LeBlanc) Duval. She married Earl W. Desrochers on Sept. 3, 1945 and have enjoyed (64) years of marriage together. They have four children, Roland G. Desrochers and his wife Linda of West Springfield, Earl R. Desrochers and his wife Theresa of Chicopee, Donna T. Hartford and her husband Bruce of Lebanon, NH, and David A. Desrochers and his wife Ann of South Hadley, as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Claire greeted customers with her warm smile for more than (30) years as a cashier at the Big Y Supermarket until the age of (84). She was loved by all and was a woman with a heart of gold. She loved babies and little children and spoke to each one she encountered. She loved her family and enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren. She was a very loving, kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She had a fondness for animals and relished a good game of bingo. Claire was a communicant of St. Anne�s Church in Fairview. She will be sadly missed by her husband, family and friends. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association of Western Mass, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
