Claire Gertrude Carter

Claire G. Carter 1923-2017 S. Hadley- Claire G. (Hebert) Carter, 93, of S. Hadley, passed away on February 8, 2017. She was born in Holyoke on March 8, 1923, to the late Ernest and Marie-Rose Hebert. She worked many years as a seamstress at Elco Dress factory in Holyoke. She enjoyed traveling to various places with her husband and sisters. She was an avid crafter and loved to take care of her home and could fix almost everything. Claire was a wonderful mother, and sister, her great smile and upbeat attitude will be loved, missed and remembered. Claire was married to the love of her life; the late Robert Carter whom they raised 6 wonderful children. She is survived by her sons; Bobby Carter and his wife of Charlestown, RI, David and his wife Sheila of Chicopee, Dennis and his wife Alice of Chicopee, her daughter; Pamela Kranz and her husband William of S. Hadley, she was blessed to have 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren who brought her great joy. In addition to her parents Claire was predeceased by her husband Robert Carter, daughter Gail Ritchie and son Ronald Carter, her siblings; William, Donald, Edgar, and Doris Alexander. Life celebration hours will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00AM at Brunelle�s, burial will be follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in So. Hadley.
