Claire A. Maziarz

CHICOPEE- Claire A. Maziarz, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Holyoke Medical Center. Claire was born in Chicopee on April 1, 1932 a daughter of the late Sylva and Antoinette (Vigneux) Fontaine. She was educated in Chicopee schools and most recently was employed at the former Champion Paper Co in Chicopee where she retired after many years of service. Prior to that, she was employed at Holyoke Hospital as a dietary aide for over 22 years. Claire was generous and caring as she gave so much of herself to others and could always be counted on for support. She enjoyed Bingo, spending time with family and friends and was devoted to her faith. Claire was predeceased by her husband, Frederick “Freddy” Maziarz in May of 2008 after 34 years of marriage. Claire is survived by her brother, Roland Fontaine of FL; 3 sisters, Doris Blanchard and her husband Philip of FL; Anita Paynic of PA; Pauline Shields of FL and several caring nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for Claire will be held on Thursday morning July 7, 2011 from 9:15 – 10:15 AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. Claire will be buried in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee.
