Chauncey Bryant, 89, beloved husband, of 53 years, of Georgette (Belgarde) Bryant, who predeceased him in 2013, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Vero of Hampden. Chauncey was born on June 11, 1932, in White Valley, PA, a son of Herbert A. and Helen M. (Fitze) Bryant. He was raised and educated in White Valley and was a graduate of Pleasant Mount Vocational High School in 1950 and was a resident of Chicopee for over 49 years. Chauncey enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in in December of 1952 and served his country honorably in the Korean war and the Vietnam War, before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in January of 1973. After his time in the service, Chauncey served as property manager for base housing at Westover Air Force base, for over 30 years. Chauncey was also a licensed electrician by trade, and he maintained his license well into his seventies. He was an avid hunter throughout his life, and he loved to dance especially country western. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Homer, Bruce, Willard, Donald, and Kenneth Bryant, and sisters, Blanche and Delma Bryant. Chauncey leaves behind his two sons, Gregory Lavelle and his wife Lorri of Caledonia, MI, and Steven Lavelle of Chicopee, and his daughter, Rhonda Stefanelli, and her husband Bill of Chicopee; daughter in law, Rebecca Lavelle of Chicopee; his five adored grandchildren, Jeffrey Lavelle, Steven Lavelle, Brad Rzewnicki and fiancée, Mallory Nascembeni, Amanda Lavelle of Chicopee, Rachael (Bessette) Stokes and her husband, PJ; his three cherished great grandchildren, Cooper, Amelia, and Nova, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
