Cecile L. (Fournier) Deleault
1926-2018
HOLYOKE- Cecile (Fournier) Deleault, 92, of Holyoke, passed away on May 23, 2018. She was born on March 4, 1926, a daughter of the late George and Eva (Dupont) Fournier. After graduating as valedictorian from Precious Blood High School, she married Armand Deleault, who predeceased her in 1989. She later worked for 25 years as a secretary for Holyoke Hospital. Cecile loved singing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was also fond of watching NASCAR, the Celtics, and the Red Sox. Cecile was truly a good, kind woman who could make everybody smile; she was always willing to help and never said no to someone in need. She will be dearly missed by her children, Sue Arnhold and her husband Gary of Sebastian, FL; Richard Deleault and his wife Deborah of Springfield; her grandchildren, Melissa Paciulli and Doug Hall of Amherst, Elias Deleault and his wife Rachel of Puyallup, WA and Caleb Deleault of Jamaica Plain. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. Cecile was predeceased by her daughter Theresa in 1947, four sisters, two brothers, and her son-in-law Harry Plachta in 1995. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA. Her funeral will begin at 8:30AM at Brunelle Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Jerome’s Church, Hampden St., Holyoke, MA. The Rite of Committal and Burial will take place in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Donations in Cecile’s name may be made to the Loomis House, 298 Jarvis Ave, Holyoke, MA 01040.
